Soccer Girls Spring 2023

Soccer Girls Spring 2023

The spring season begins on March 1. Games begin in April and are typically held on Sunday afternoon/evenings (Friday nights for U12). There is a weekend (possibly two) that will have games on Saturday and Sunday. The season will end the first or second week of June depending on makeup games, mainly due to weather.

***Please register your child based on her birth year. If you do not see her birth year that means that age group is full and your child will be placed on a wait list.  This does NOT mean that your child will not get to play….it just means that she may not get to play at her age appropriate level or on the team of their choosing or we do not have a coach yet. If a team does not have a parent/volunteer to coach a team, we will attempt to place players in the next higher age group, but it is unlikely. The team will be dispersed and a refund will be issued to those families. This is an all-volunteer organization and your participation (aunt, uncle, grandma, grandpa, cousin) is crucial.***

**All players will need a full uniform consisting of a jersey, shorts and socks.

**Registration fee is: $100

Individual uniform items can be purchased as needed each season- we will be transitioning to a new uniform over the next few seasons (through 2023), due to supply chain and manufacturing issues- both uniforms are acceptable during this period (Jersey - $30.00, Shorts - $26.00, Socks - $13.00)

The county imposes a roster size limit for each age group/team and once the limit has been reached additional players cannot be added unless granted special permission from the county. In addition, additional teams may not be added after the registration deadline. Therefore, register early to ensure your child’s placement on a team and time to add an additional team if there is enough players interested to make an additional team in that age group. Late registrations will only be accepted if a team has room left on their roster and an additional $20.00 late fee will be imposed.

If you have an interest in coaching, being an assistant coach please indicate it on your child’s registration form and register yourself for the position for which you are volunteering for. Training will be provided for anyone interested in coaching.  The registration fee for the head coach’s child is waived. A background check is required (for both head AND assistant coaches) through Anne Arundel Parks and Rec (a $7.00 fee is imposed and it is good for three years). There is also mandatory training that the county will require you to take online before the season starts. Here is the website for more details and instructions on completing one:

Evaluations are used to determine what skill level each player possesses. In the event that we have enough players to form more than one team in any age group, evaluations will be conducted (these are NOT tryouts as every player will make a team). These are held in a very organized manner and are 100% fair. Evaluators with soccer experience will determine the placement of the players. All of the evaluators’ scores are tallied, and the players will be placed on teams according to their skill level. Each team is then registered with the county at different levels/divisions and will not play each other. This is to the betterment of the players.

Teams, coaches, and other special requests are given best effort to be honored but cannot be guaranteed.
