SCYA Field Hockey

Games will tentatively begin the weekend of Saturday, September 6th and are typically played on Saturdays and Sundays.  County Rules and Schedules are posted on the Anne Arundel County Parks and Rec website.  Game Schedules are generally posted the week that games begin. *Playdate for Juniors & Middie’s will be August 24th with more details to follow.

Sticklettes Clinic: 4 and 5 year olds

Practices are once a week. The focus is on learning basic skills and having fun!

County Leagues 

  • Sticklettes - Grades K thru 2nd - 6v6
  • Pee Wee - Grades 3 and 4 - 7v7 
  • Middies - Grades 5 and 6 - 11v11
  • Juniors - Grades 7 and 8 - 11v11 

 

Groups are based on grade, not age. Eligibility is per by Anne Arundel County Guidelines. Note:

Please indicate if your player is also playing for a club/travel field hockey team.  Teams composed

of 60% club players will be registered for the A division.

REGISTRATION FEES (2025)

Registration fees cover equipment, field maintenance, turf time, and referee fees. Registration closes on August 4, 2025. *Summer Turf Tuesdays are included in registration, dates & details to follow*

County (Pee Wee, Middie and Junior)

Equipment: 

Regulation field hockey stick, shin guards, mouth guard and cleats/sneakers. (Goggles are optional)

Game Uniform: 

  • Sticklettes Clinic: Practice jersey will be provided by SCYA

 

  • Sticklettes, Pee Wee, Middie and Junior -  Black shorts and the blue and white reversible Jersey given to players during previous seasons (starting in 2021).  

 

All age groups will need to order shin guard covers through SCYA, the cost is $15.

Replacement jerseys are $25. All new players will receive a jersey as part of registration.

TURF TUESDAYS ARE BACK! 

SCYA Coaches are excited to partner with Southern High School players, coaches and alumni to offer skills and drills to help players prepare for the fall season. Beginners and experienced players are all welcome to join! All players will need a water bottle, mouth guard, shin guards and field hockey stick to participate. 

*You MUST be currently registered for the 2025 Fall Season to participate. 

Tentative Dates: July 15, 22, 29 & August 5

*all special coaches session only will be held on August 12. 

Time: 6:00-8:00pm
